So well expressed by Papakura Rotary, this is a call for action we all should heed.
“For so long we did our good work quietly and not for recognition. While this was noble it made it difficult for people to understand what we actually did.  Strengthening Rotary is essential to Rotary’s future. As we share our story in a more clear and compelling way, like-minded people are going to want to be part of our great Club. It is time to share what we do, why we do it and the impact it has on the community and ourselves. Come on Papakura Rotary ... send through your stories!!!!”

In placing the story about their recent Tonga water project success onto their website they not only recognised and reinvigorated their own members, but they showed their commitment to improving access to clean water by those without this.  The flow-on impacts are enormous.

Because they wrote the story not only do their members and the club’s Family of Rotary know about their achievement but their wider community as well.   Because they placed this onto their website it was picked up and included on other Rotary media and that has a potential audience that is global.

So the challenge is implicit for all clubs:  add every project to your Events calendar and after write a story for addition to your website.  Tell your story.
