Rotary Harbourside Club's new collaboration with Urban Ark - Manawa Taiao, which will involve a range of environmental and ecological conservation projects, from visiting a recycling centre through working on pest control.

Dr. Linda Lum of the Harbourside Club is leading these efforts and will be working directly with Phil Simpson, an Ecological Restoration Advisor from Urban Ark. We encourage any Rotary Club interested in collaborating to connect with Dr. Lum.
The workshop is scheduled in February 2026, while the workshop proposal had been approved and signed the hire agreement. It will be respectfully promoted to invite 13 Rotary clubs in the Auckland isthmus area, although Rotarians in the wider district of Greater Auckland clubs might want to attend as well.
It is expected to recruit some initial suggestions to adopt a park or school in an area not currently serviced. E.g. Building rat traps as a working bee?
Club membership ranged from 8 to 70+ members in each club so vary widely in resources and person power. The workshop attendees will leave with some practical ideas for projects that they can take back to their respective clubs. We are looking forward to making it happened.
