Youth and Leadership
 
Purpose: 
To develop and support the 5th Avenue of Service of Rotary.   Youth Services recognises the positive change implemented by youth and young adults involved in leadership development activities, community and international service projects and exchange programs that enrich and foster world peace and cultural understanding
 
Committee Objectives:
  • Plan and develop the strategies which will most effectively engage young people with the Rotary ideals for service and personal development
  • Ensure all the individual district programmes are linked in support of the overall district strategy for expanding Rotary influence and ideals across schools and tertiary students.
  • Support & develop specific District 9920 Rotary Youth and Young Adult Programme’s and engage volunteers from other programmes
  • Engage clubs across the district in the programmes either through sponsoring young people to attend or in the delivery of programmes
  • Review and update the District programmes – Design, cost effectiveness, relevance
  • Promote and support Club based Rotary Programmes for Youth
  • Develop Strategies for wider engagement & effectiveness with our youth
  • Ensure that the District Youth Activity Wellbeing policy (YAWP) is promoted to and accepted by all District 9920 Rotary Clubs (Click Here for a copy of the Youth Activity Wellbeing Policy)

Youth Programmes are largely focused on youth development of self, community awareness & service, citizenship, international understanding and leadership.
